Russ is a highly accomplished senior homebuilding and finance executive with 25 years of homebuilding and real estate experience. Russ joined Smith Douglas in 2017 and serves as its Executive Vice President and CFO overseeing the Company’s accounting, finance, human resource, information technology and legal departments. He recently led the Company’s successful IPO in January 2024. Prior to joining Smith Douglas, he was the Senior Vice President and CFO for WCI Communities from 2008 through 2017 where he helped spearhead the restructuring and turnaround of the company from its bankruptcy in 2008 to its successful IPO in 2013 and its eventual sale to Lennar in 2017. Prior to joining WCI he held several senior finance roles for top 12 public homebuilding companies. Russ started his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in their real estate practice. Russ is a CPA and CTP (inactive) with Masters and Bachelors degrees in accounting from Florida State University.
